Short abstract from the book:Sooty shearwater is a common migratory visitor around the Faroes in July-November. Sooty shearwater has not been ringed in the Faroes. An adult bird ringed on 6 May 1968 off the coast of Namibia was controlled on 9 March 1977 on a ship north of the Faroes, 9,320 km N of the ringing site.
