Short abstract from the book:Sanderling is a common migratory visitor in the Faroes. Only one bird has been ringed. There are two recoveries of foreign-ringed birds. A sanderling, ringed 7 March 2008 at Amansuri in Ghana, was controlled several times in Ghana until 26 March 2009, and then controlled 3 August 2009 on Svínoy, 6,380 km N of the ringing site. Two months later (8 October) the same bird was again seen in Ghana. The other foreign-ringed bird was ringed 19 May 2008 in Sandgerði in SW Iceland and controlled twice on 3-4 August 2008 in Trongisvágur on Suðuroy. The following day it was seen at Moast Beach, Scatness on Shetland and the following spring it was seen on Sandgerði, Iceland.
