Short abstract from the book:Kestrel is a rare migratory and summer visitor in the Faroes. Three have been ringed, the first during the Second World War. Since then, one was ringed in 2002 on Nólsoy and one in 2006 in Bøur, Vágar. None of the Faroese ringed kestrels has been recovered. A kestrel ringed as a chick on 7 July 2006 at Rysjøen, N of Oslo, Norway, was controlled onboard a ship N of the Faroes on 18 September 2006, approximately 1,049 km W of the ringing site.
