Short abstract from the book:
House sparrow is a common breeding resident in the Faroes, with an estimated population of 2,700 pairs. The first breeding record was after the winter 1935-1936. The species is only found near human settlements. 2,343 have been ringed, the majority on Nólsoy. Individuals are rarely recovered away from their ringing site: of 223 recoveries only two were made 2 km or more from the ringing site (4 and 21 km, respectively).
