Short abstract from the book:Goldcrest is a rare breeding bird in the Faroes, with the first recorded breeding in 1979. It is a relatively common visitor in spring and, particularly, in autumn. 323 have been ringed, most of them on Nólsoy (283) and Sumba, Suðuroy (33). 39 were ringed in spring and 284 in autumn. 73% were ringed as first-year birds and 27 as older. A first-year bird ringed on 11 September 2002 in Sumba, Suðuroy, collided with a window 20 days later in Tórshavn, 69 km N of the ringing site. A bird ringed on 5 October 2005 in Storfjord, Norway, was controlled on 18 October 2005 on Nólsoy, 730 km W of the ringing site with an average minimum speed of 56 km/day.
