Short abstract from the book:Dunlin is a rare breeding bird in the Faroes with only 10-15 pairs. It is common during migration and a rare winter visitor. Six dunlins have been ringed in the Faroes: three on Mykines and three in Søltuvík, Sandoy, all in July-August in their 1st calendar year. The only recovery is a dunlin, ringed 29 July 1970 on Mykines, that was shot 18 days later in Douro Lit, Portugal, 2,331 km S of the ringing site (average minimum speed 130 km/day). Three foreign-ringed dunlins have been recovered in the Faroes, two from Britain and one from France.
