Short abstract from the book:Barnacle goose is a rare migratory visitor to the Faroes. A few breeding pairs presumably originate from captive birds. One barnacle goose has been ringed in the Faroes, a young ringed 26 October 1998 at Oyrabakka, Eysturoy. Two barnacle geese ringed in Svalbard have been recovered in the Faroes in October and November, respectively.
